Tired of web 2.0 – the next step in social networking sites?
September 1, 2006
After Eric Schmidt’s statement on web 3.0 and this very well written entry on the problems with web 2.0 titled Social software in perspective I started thinking about how I use the web 2.0 sites. First off I am a lazy fool that needs every minute that I have just to reduce the tasks off my to-do list. Therefore as a result, I tend to look at these new websites and admite them for their great implementation of the technology and in certain cases even great UI design, but then I move on…… meez is a great example of this. Great technology implementation and very well presented but what am I going to do with this? I think I have registered with at least 30 sites over the last couple of months but I have yet to return to most of them. In fact, I think I am the only person in my circle of friends that doesn’t actively use flickr. I have spent more time on riya that I have flickr, mainly because I was uploading photo’s to see if I could break their algorithm but they have done a good job. Now I want to see something useful come from this technology…..a SPAM filter maybe?
